Western Audit of Ukraine Funds Includes Cryptocurrency Transfers, Says Former Zelenskyy Advisor
Oleksii Arestovych, former advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, revealed that Western partners have initiated a large-scale audit of funds sent to Ukraine, including cryptocurrency transactions. The move is seen as part of broader efforts to combat corruption and increase pressure on Kyiv to negotiate peace with Russia.
Arestovych emphasized the audit's focus on misappropriated funds, particularly those involving digital assets. "This is the first serious step by Western partners in the fight against corruption in Ukraine," he stated on Telegram, noting the involvement of experts with significant capabilities in tracking illicit financial flows.
The development comes alongside heightened Western pressure on Russia, including sanctions and threats to supply Ukraine with long-range weapons. The conflict, now in its third year, continues to dominate Ukraine's territory with no resolution in sight.
